Phil” not as a speculator or as a spectator; I write this book to document my experiences of the Great Mystery. “God Is” is a spiritual journey not a religious one. I present this book as a gift of Grace to you, just as the spiritual experiences I share with you were a gift of Grace to me. Due to these experiences I am a recovering drug addict who is able to deal with life on life’s terms without the use of any mood or mind-altering substances. Additionally, I have learned how to be guided by God’s Will not self-will. I am writing this book for a number of reasons. One of those reasons is to transmit “The Gospel of Rev. Phil” (The Good News of Rev. Phil) which is to introduce you to an all-powerful, all-knowing, ever-present, unconditionally loving, non-judging Divine Presence. This Presence wants nothing but your greatest good to be made manifest in your life and works for that outcome. However, God will never override our Free Will choices. God will not do for us what we can do for ourselves; choose walking towards the light as opposed to walking away from it. God will only do for us what we can’t do for ourselves, eliminate or minimize the consequences of our choosing to walk towards the darkness. The second reason is to let you know that no matter how dysfunctional life starts out, no matter how destructive you are to yourself and/or abusive you are to yourself and/or others, you are never without the possibility of transformation. The final reason is to provide you with understandings and tools to facilitate your transformation. “God Is” “The Gospel of Rev. Phil” carries the message that The Creator loves its creations unconditionally. The fact that I am alive and capable of writing this story is proof positive of that statement. Despite the wreckage I created for myself and inflicted on others, God never judged me, never gave up on me. “God Is” non-judgmental. God repeatedly intervened in my life, saving me from myself, in the hope that I would, at the next crossroad, choose to walk towards the light instead of away from it. God is unconditionally loving, I didn’t need to be a disciple or devotee of any teacher, practice or religion in order for God to provide me with an option of transformation. I didn’t need to address God by a certain name, I just needed to choose whatever I wanted to name this entity, and not self-will, to be my guiding force. I didn’t need to meditate or pray in a certain way; I needed to just surrender in whatever fashion resonated with me. I didn’t need to prostrate myself in a prescribed fashion, I needed to master my ego. “God Is” unconcerned with ceremony, ritual and dogma, just my Soul’s development. My being was enough for the option of progressive enlightenment to be available. I didn’t have to save my Soul, I had to educate it. My repeatedly choosing to walk towards the darkness instead of the light never damned me to hell. “God Is” infinite patience. What I have learned, what I have come to believe without a doubt, is that we are all the equal children of the First Cause. Our actions and experiences don’t define us, they inform us. Only Spirit defines us. We don’t need to find our Soul, we are our Soul. We don’t need Love, we are Love. Start seeking God’s will in your life in any fashion you feel guided to and watch your life change. If I can turn my life around so can you. What are you waiting for?
