With Sick and Tired of Being Sick and Tired, Bill Schlondrop, the author of two Science Fiction books, Flight to Eden, and, Mr. Muffet Strikes Back, now looks at an entirely different field: The recovery from the Disease of Alcoholism. Bill is a retired Marine captain, and recovering alcoholic. As a revelatory participant, he is keenly interested in dispelling certain derogatory myths surrounding alcohol recovery. After three attempts at healing, the first two unsuccessful, he relates his findings as to what happened to turn his own recovery around. He feels that he has spent sufficient time interviewing, studying, and being involved with recovering programs, and people to qualify for a Ph.D., if, and when, such an animal becomes available. His belief? If more people in need were familiar with the requirements of successful recovery, the success rate might be greater than the dismal national average of twenty-five percent.
