Addiction and the Pulpit:Living a Double Life

Dr. Wilks was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He is the Executive Director of Joshua Ministries. Dr. Wilks was ordained an Elder in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in 1988, and he has pastored churches in Arizona, California, South Carolina and New Mexico. He earned both the Doctor of Ministry Degree and Master of Divinity degree from Phillips School of Theology at the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Georgia. He was clinically trained in chaplaincy through a two-year Clinical Pastoral Education Program at the Care and Counseling Center of Georgia. Dr. Wilks has served as a chaplain, bereavement coordinator, volunteer coordinator, and account liaison in the hospice profession. He is fervent in the expansion of his concept of God, self, and others through the practice of Liberation Theology.
