Beautiful & Bipolar: Life,Love, and Mental Illness

As a Social Worker, Erika began her advocacy for those overlooked, less represented with a growing passion to ensure those populations had a voice. With a growing love/hate relationship with her own diagnosis of Bi-Polar; Erika began to explore the journeys—high and low of her new found life trait with hopes of finding acceptance and co-existence. In that, she was empowered to expound advocacy in the world of Mental Health. It’s in this realm that her passion enlightened with a desire to overcome, educate and unmask the unspoken trends in thinking of someone with a mental health diagnosis. Her passion of writing increased as a strong voice of helping unmask taboos of Bi-Polar. In 2010, she debuted her writing in a virtual blog, “Beautiful, Black and BiPolar” where you can read the journals of depression, mania, and all of the above in between. “Beautiful and BiPolar” has grown in followers with commentary of those inspired and motivated to increase daily worth from reading her meticulous words of expression that only she can derive. Erika is a vibrant spirit that lives life in constant transitions with idea that she’ll continue progression in this world to reach full purpose. "Beautiful & Bipolar" is the first title under Ms. Dennis' self-publishing company titled, "Beyond Words Publishing." An Auburn University Alum and Finer Woman of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.; Erika is a survivor who has defied several odds and continues to advocate & find new things about life, love, and mental illness.
