You Got This is a self-help guide penned by author Dan Knudsen which focuses on 'How to wean off opioids, street drugs and prescription medication with little to no withdrawal symptoms'. There is an especially difficult cycle of poverty for people suffering from addiction in countries that do not provide national healthcare, with rehab programs and addiction-managing drugs costing thousands of dollars. In this supportive guidebook, Knudsen advocates a moderate and measured approach to weaning and withdrawal which relies on healthy eating, plant-based remedies, and lifestyle changes to eventually achieve an addiction-free life. The work is divided into different sections to conquer each stage of the drug-free process. It is difficult to toe the line between a self-induced detox and a medically approved method for coming off powerful drug addictions, but there are those who only have the means to help themselves thanks to overarching medical companies. If you have to DIY your detox, then author Dan Knudsen is certainly someone to trust, an author who understands the risks and demands moderation and careful self-monitoring in his work. The prose is friendly and non-judgmental, with plenty of insight from real-world experiences that lends itself to the multitude of different situations that lead people to addiction, as well as the many options they can choose to take towards self-recovery. You Got This: How to Wean off Opioids, Street Drugs and Prescription Medication with Little to No Withdrawal Symptoms by Dan Knudsen is a great book for people who are trying to get rid of their addiction or helping other people with it. This self-help book talks about how a person can reduce the withdrawal symptoms, detox, rebalance the chemicals in their bodies and learn strategies to cope with post-addition symptoms. While in-house rehabilitation can be very expensive, the author proposes a way in which an addict can get rid of their addiction without losing their life. Being alone in the process can have a negative impact on the patient, but this way, the patient can be surrounded by their family and still beat their addiction. The methods mentioned here are for people with mild to moderate addiction, keeping them motivated and helping them reduce regression.
This is a great self-help book that not only keeps motivating the reader but actually gives them the strength to move on. Fighting addiction cannot be easy for anyone, regardless if it is a mild addiction or severe. What really impressed me was how the author kept mentioning family support, encouraging patients to stay active in their lives and surround themselves with the people and activities that they enjoy. Isolating yourself when you are fighting your addiction can be counterproductive, which is why I believe the author advises patients to surround themselves with their loved ones. I found the language simple yet powerful, the words were soft yet they had an impact on me. I believe this is going to be a great help for people who want to do better and get back to their life. Very informative and practical!

You Got This: How to Wean Off Opioids, Street Drugs and Prescription Medication With Little to No Withdrawal Symptoms by Dan Knudsen is a self-help book that does exactly as the title suggests. Like the title, Knudsen doesn't mince words and jumps directly in with an introduction to the herbal remedy Kratom, an alternative medicine that doesn't get the attention it deserves with regard to its exceptional success rate in dealing with all that makes the ending of an addiction intolerable, if not impossible. Knudsen leads with his personal experience and moves swiftly through the guides section on self-forgiveness, prayer, physical and psychological responses, sharing, and, ultimately, never giving up.
Dan Knudsen has written a succinct and wholly plausible guide to recovery with You Got This, and it makes me wonder why more isn't being done to understand and offer Kratom. While the stories are heartbreaking and the no-holds-barred approach might be a tough pill to swallow for many, Knudsen has done his homework and presents--from start to finish--each step to recovery in fantastically explicit detail. There is no room for excuses and his own journey lends authority to the program and pushes the usual hesitation out of the way. I'd recommend this book to all who are or know or are connected with an individual who is on a path of self-destruction through the use of opioids and prescription drugs, particularly as most genuinely believe they have tried everything...until they are able to read this; a glimmer of hope where few find there is any left.
